GIVE YOUR TIME OR ENERGY

Supporting WD4C is about more than just money! You help support our mission by being a responsible dog owner, respecting wildlife, supporting local shelters, and making green lifestyle choices.

 If you’d like to directly help out by volunteering your time, keep an eye on our social media channels. We organize dog poop pickup days in Missoula and will be expanding opportunities in the future. We are also always accepting donations of field gear for humans and dogs - contact Breanne@wd4c.org to see what our current needs are.

And of course, be sure to tell your loved ones about the work we do!

STOCK & WIRED GIVING

  • Giving Stock
    Thank you for your interest in giving a gift of stock to WD4C. Please contact Skye Plumb at skye@wd4c.org, Pete Coppolillo at pete@wd4c.org or Breanne Black at breanne@wd4.org for more information.
  • Make a Wired Donation
    Thank you for your interest in making a wired donation to the WD4C. Please contact Skye Plumb at skye@wd4c.org, Pete Coppolillo at pete@wd4c.org or Breanne Black at breanne@wd4.org for more information.
  • PLANNED GIVING
    Thank you for your interest in learning about creative ways to support Working Dogs for Conservation (WD4C). Planned gifts are a great way to leave assets to WD4C that provide current and future benefits for both WD4C and you.

  • Charitable Bequests
    You can support WD4C’s conservation mission far into the future by adding a bequest to your will or living trust. This type of gift will not alter your current lifestyle, and is fully deductible for estate tax purposes.
  • Following is an example of language you can use:

    “To Working Dogs for Conservation, a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization incorporated in the state of Montana in 2000, having as its principal address 10971 Rustic Road, Missoula MT 59802, and tax identification number EIN: 20-2708654, I, [name], of [city, state ZIP] hereby give and bequeath the sum of $______ or _____percent of my estate to be used as determined by WD4C for the general purposes of WD4C.”

    • Retirement Accounts
      Did you know you can name WD4C as beneficiary of your retirement funds and the entire designated amount passes to WD4C tax-free? And that your gift is fully deductible for estate tax purposes? Alternatively, retirement accounts like IRAs, Keoghs, and 401(k) plans are taxed as income to your heirs, and may be subject to estate tax. You may designate:

    Your entire retirement account;
    A set dollar amount;
    A percentage of your total retirement funds;
    An amount contingent on other conditions being met, such as having a loved one predecease you.

    Consult your financial advisor or your employer’s human resource department to get the simple form to designate WD4C (tax identification number EIN: 20-2708654) as a beneficiary of your retirement account.

    • Other Types of Planned Giving
      There are a variety of other types of planned gifts that are of great help to WD4C that can also help you create wealth and leave a lasting charitable legacy. These include Charitable Gift Annuities, Deferred Payment Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, IRA Rollover Gifts and others. Please contact us or your financial planner to see if these types of gifts are right for you. In the right situation, planned gifts can help you save on your taxes, avoid capital gains tax on the sale of appreciated assets, and plan and save for the future.

    Let Us Know Your Plans
    If you have included WD4C in your estate plans, please let us know by calling or emailing us. Thank you for your generous commitment to WD4C.

    If you’re 70½ or older and have an IRA, you likely know that you are required to transfer a percentage of your IRA each year (the “Required Minimum Distribution” or RMD).  Did you know that you can turn your RMD into a charitable gift by transferring it directly to Working Dogs for Conservation? That way, it will not be taxed and will qualify toward your required minimum distribution. This is a win for you as well as for the wildlife and wild places our dogs help to protect.  Simply contact your IRA administrator to request that a charitable distribution be transferred to Working Dogs for Conservation. [WD4C’s tax ID is 20-2708654, and our mailing address is WD4C, Box 280 Bozeman, MT, 59715]
